A Few of My Friends
Heidi is a very special friend of mine. Although the miles and circumstances have seperated us, we still keep in touch. From the first time I met her at the Outback Steak House where she used to wait tables, I knew she was different. She is one of those people that you just can't know for any length of time without falling in love with her. I wrote these few words about her before I left Georgia. I also took this picture of her doing her angelic duty, watching over me on my flight back from Austin last year.
A short time later, Heidi introduced me to her best friend Tyffani. Tyff is also quite an angel. She's beautiful to look at and very sweet. Like Heidi, Tyffani is a very devoted Christian. She wants more than anything to find God's will for her life. She loves acting and is very good at it. With her acting talent and her desire to please the Lord, she has moved to New York to pursue an acting career. She hopes to someday be in Christian movies. Follow these links to see her bio and recent headshots.

She is as talented as she is beautiful but it is a tough road to pursue and she needs our prayers.
When Christmas time rolled around Heidi and Tyffani invited me to their church to see their anual rendition of the musical The Gospel According To Scrooge. This is where I was introduced to their friend and now mine, Wendie. Heidi, Tyffani, and Wendie played the parts of the three angels who came to visit Scrooge in the night. Nothing could have been more appropriate. Wendie is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet and she too is very beautiful. All three of these friends are real angels!
One of my consulting jobs was to help set up a computer system at a weight loss clinic. It was there that I met Serena who was working there as a personal trainer and we soon became very good friends. We enjoyed going to movies together, going out to eat and just spending time together. When I moved to South Florida she came to visit for a week and we had a blast!
They are two of the sweetest people you could ever hope to meet and when I met them they were just getting started in a ministry they called Friends Of Disabled Adults and have since expanded to include And Children. Click the sign below to learn more about FODAC.
FODA was a Godsend and a dream come true for me in that situation and Ed and Annie are very very special people. Ed bears a striking resemblance to a jolly old fellow from the north pole, right down to the natural full bushy white beard. If you don't believe me just look at this picture of Ed and Annie during that wonderful time of year...
Among other things they did, every Sunday morning Ed and Annie came around in the FODA van to give me and lots of others in wheelchairs a ride to church. We went to the Mount Carmel Christian Church which has now moved to beautiftutl Stone Mountain. I loved it there. All the people were very loving and kind and it was very obvious that the place was overflowing with God's love. While I was there, they made me an honorary youth coach. It was great. Here is a picture of me and the kids in the group I helped with.
